About The Opportunity
About The Opportunity
We are seeking a motivated Graduate Ecologist to join our Wollongong Ecology Team. In this role, you’ll provide ecological and environmental support across a variety of projects, including field surveys, report writing, proposal preparation, and contributing to day-to-day project activities. You’ll have the chance to be involved in a wide range of projects that deliver innovative environmental and ecological solutions for our clients.
As a Graduate Ecologist You Will
- Receive on-the-job training and mentoring from highly respected environmental professionals.
- Contribute to projects in ecological assessment, environmental impact assessment, vegetation management, monitoring, planning, and conservation assessment.
- Collaborate with colleagues across multiple disciplines and locations.
- Build your skills in client engagement and liaising with government and regulatory authorities.

About You

- A genuine passion for the environment – please provide a short (up to 300 words) summary outlining why you are passionate about the environment and “leading with science”
- A degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related discipline
- Enthusiasm for ecology, with any prior experience in flora and fauna surveys highly regarded
- Strong communication skills – including scientific writing and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and clients
- A can-do attitude, initiative, and good time management skills to manage competing priorities
- An awareness of relevant NSW and Commonwealth environmental legislation
- Baseline fitness and agility to participate in fieldwork across varied climates and terrains
- A current manual driver’s licence with a safe driving record
- Sound working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Australian residency or citizenship
