Key Responsibilities:
* Menu Planning & Cost Management: Design creative menus that reflect seasonal trends, customer preferences, and dietary requirements. Estimate food and labour costs to ensure efficient budgeting and profitability.
* Ordering & Inventory Management: Monitor and manage food supply orders to ensure all ingredients are fresh and readily available, while minimizing waste.
* Quality Control: Oversee all stages of food preparation and presentation, ensuring that every dish meets the highest standards of quality, taste, and appearance.
* Collaboration with Management: Work closely with restaurant managers to discuss and solve any issues related to food preparation, operations, or customer feedback.
* Training & Development: Mentor and train kitchen staff, demonstrating advanced cooking techniques and ensuring that kitchen procedures are followed.
* Food Preparation & Cooking: Be hands-on in preparing and cooking meals, especially during peak hours, ensuring timely and precise execution.
* Hygiene & Safety Compliance: Ensure that all health, safety, and hygiene regulations are strictly adhered to, always maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment.
* Team Management & Recruitment: Assist in the recruitment of kitchen staff and lead team training to ensure efficient, cohesive kitchen operations.
Qualifications & Experience:
* Education: Advanced Diploma or Diploma in Culinary Arts, Hospitality, or related field.
* Experience: A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience working as a chef in a fast-paced environment.
* Strong knowledge of food hygiene regulations, cooking techniques, and kitchen safety standards.
