Responsibilities
* We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant with at least 5 years of experience to join our finance team. This role plays a key part in maintaining the integrity of our financial systems and supporting strategic business decisions through accurate reporting and compliance.
* Manage and maintain General Ledger (GL) accounts including journal entries, month-end closing, and account analysis
* Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
* Ensure timely and accurate BAS, WHT, FBT and other statutory filings in compliance with Australian taxation and regulatory standards
* Support month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring deadlines are met with high accuracy
* Assist with forecast and budget
* Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights that support strategic decision-making
* Contribute to process improvement initiatives to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and automation within the finance function
* Maintain and update accounting policies in line with changes in legislation and business needs
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; CA/CPA qualification preferred
* 3 - 5 years of accounting experience, ideally within a mid to large-sized organization
* Strong hands-on experience with General Ledger (GL) accounting and reconciliations
* Sound knowledge of Australian tax regulations and compliance (GST, WHT, PAYG, Superannuation, etc.)
* Previous experience using Oracle or another large ERP platform an advantage
* Proficiency with MS Excel and familiarity with other Microsoft Office applications
* Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities
* Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver within deadlines
* Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset
* A continuous improvement attitude with the ability to contribute to business process enhancements
