The Role
The Construction Manager (Major Works) will oversee civil construction activities for large-scale telecommunications projects across Australia. With extensive industry experience in civil infrastructure, the Construction Manager will resolve complex challenges and ensure quality project outcomes.
The ideal candidate is articulate, perceptive, and an excellent communicator, capable of understanding project requirements and collaborating effectively with Design, Field, and Project Management teams. This role involves overseeing critical regional infrastructure projects and requires regular travel.
Role Accountabilities:
* Promote safe work practices and ensure compliance with WH&S legislation, policies, and procedures.

Responsibilities
* Manage civil construction activities, ensuring adherence to design specifications, project objectives, and safety and quality standards.
* Monitor and manage construction performance and progress, utilizing methodologies to make informed decisions.
* Collaborate with internal teams to anticipate challenges and mitigate risks.
* Implement and maintain safety and quality management measures.
* Coordinate multiple construction projects to meet technical and timeline requirements.
* Engage with stakeholders and resolve conflicts through strong interpersonal skills.
* Develop solutions to construction challenges and escalate issues when necessary.
* Foster productive relationships with suppliers and provide project direction.
* Produce necessary documentation for projects.
Expertise, Experience & Qualifications
* Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or equivalent, or substantial relevant experience.
* Experience with telecommunications infrastructure construction across diverse regions.
* Knowledge of SHEQ and experience managing large infrastructure projects.
* Formal Project Management certifications or extensive hands-on experience.
Important Skills
* Proficiency with office software (Word, Excel, Project) and scheduling tools.
* Subcontractor management and compliance expertise.
* Understanding of quality and safety frameworks for large Telco projects.
* Risk management skills.
* Excellent time management, planning, and organizational skills.
* Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
