Remuneration: $74,317.94 - $117,755 per annum + 12% Super + Salary packaging

About Us

The Hunter Valley Lower Mid North Coast Mental Health Service (HVLMNC MHS) is a key part of the Hunter New England Local Health District Mental Health Network, delivering specialist support to adults experiencing complex and severe mental health challenges.

We provide person-centred, recovery-focused care across the lifespan of treatment - from acute intervention through to sustained community support. Our service responds to a broad range of presentations including mood disorders, psychosis, eating disorders, personality disorders, and the impact of significant life events.

Together, we provide holistic assessment, collaborative care planning, intervention, and ongoing review - with recovery always at the centre.

About The Role

Based in Maitland, this is a dynamic community mental health position where no two weeks look the same.

You’ll deliver assessment, intervention and care coordination within a multidisciplinary framework - but what truly defines this role is the opportunity to build meaningful therapeutic relationships over time.

This Is Not a Desk-based Role. You Will

Engage clients in their homes and communitiesDeliver recovery-oriented interventions in real-world settingsBalance autonomy with clinical risk managementCollaborate closely with GPs, CMOs and key stakeholdersContribute to service improvement and quality initiatives

About You

We’re looking for a clinician who is:

Clinically competent and compassionateAdaptable and solutions-focusedConfident working independently and within a multidisciplinary teamSkilled in time management and prioritisationCommitted to recovery-oriented, person-centred care

Experience in mental health is highly regarded - but just as important is your willingness to learn, grow, and contribute meaningfully. With strong supervision and team support, you’ll continue developing your expertise while making an immediate impact.

Requirements

Must hold a qualification: Occupational Therapy, Psychology, Nursing, Social Work, Dietetics, Counsellor (Degree in Bachelor of Health Science Mental health, Djirruwang Program) which provides eligibility or membership of the relevant professional association / provisional or general registration through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.Eligible to drive in NSW.

Demonstrated ability to communicate and work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment to achieve optimal outcomes for consumers and their families/carers
