About The Role
The Core IP Engineering team sits within Vocus’ Network Engineering business unit with this role reporting to the Head of Platform Engineering. This team is accountable for the Engineering outcomes across Internet Interconnect, Core IP Transport and Management Networks and works closely with other Engineering teams such as Optical Transmission, Access Engineering, Product Engineering and Network and Capacity Planning. Outside of Engineering, this team works closely with Technology Operations, Carrier Relations and Procurement. The role requires an NV1 Clearance.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
* Leadership and day to day management of a key technical team
* Design Authority and Technical Owner for the Core IP functions across Internet Interconnect, Core IP Transport and Management Networks
* Documentation of standards and design
* Efficient and functional outcomes
* Lead business case development and execution for Core IP projects
* Define the roadmap and lifecycle for Core IP functions
* Escalation point for Operational teams
What You’ll Bring To The Role
* You have 10 years of experience in technical telecommunication positions and at least 5 years of experience in management.
* Significant technical experience and background in Core IP technologies in a Service Provider environment
* Strong understanding of Industry Standards and Best Practice
* Pragmatic approach with a bias to action
* Relevant commercial experience dealing with 3rd parties and business case creation
* Excellent written and oral skills ensuring the product of high-quality documentation and effective communication
* Applicants need to be Australian citizens, with the ability and willingness to hold an NV1 clearance.
