Job Description –
Backup & Storage Engineer (Veeam, Azure Backup, Nexon Cloud Storage, Dell Storage)
Role Summary
* We are seeking an experienced Backup & Storage Engineer with strong hands-on expertise in Veeam Backup & Replication, Azure Native Backup, Nexon Cloud Storage solutions, and Dell enterprise storage platforms.
* The engineer will design, implement, operate, and optimise backup and storage environments to ensure availability, resilience, and compliance for mission-critical workloads.
* Key Responsibilities
* 1. Veeam Backup & Replication Deploy, configure, and maintain Veeam Backup & Replication for virtual, physical, and cloud workloads. Define backup policies, schedules, retention, immutability, and copy jobs.
* Manage Veeam components such as: Backup Proxy Backup Repository WAN accelerators Veeam Cloud Connect Perform backup restores, SureBackup testing, and DR failover/failback. Integrate Veeam with VMware, Hyper-V, and cloud platforms. Troubleshoot backup failures, repository issues, and job performance problems.
* 2. Azure Native Backup & Recovery Configure and manage Azure Backup Vaults, Recovery Services Vaults, and Backup Policies. Manage backups for: Azure VMs Azure Files & Blobs SQL/VM databases AKS clusters (if applicable) Optimize backup storage tiers using: Hot/Cool/Archive storage Azure immutable backup Support Azure Site Recovery (ASR) for DR scenarios. Monitor backup health, alerts, and SLAs through Azure Monitor & Log Analytics.
* 3. Nexon Cloud Storage (Nexon Cloud / Nexon Managed Storage): Manage and configure Nexon cloud-based storage for enterprise workloads.
* Provision storage volumes, shares, snapshots, and replication policies. Integrate Nexon storage with VMware, Veeam, or Azure workloads. Monitor utilization, performance, and capacity growth.
* Handle DR replication, archival, retention, and compliance as per business rules.
* 4. Dell Storage (Dell EMC Storage Solutions) Manage and support Dell enterprise storage platforms such as: Dell EMC PowerStore Dell EMC Unity Dell EMC Isilon/PowerScale SC Series (if used).
* Perform LUN/volume provisioning, zoning, masking, multipathing, and host mappings.
* Manage storage protocols: iSCSI, Fibre Channel, NFS, SMB Configure snapshots, clones, replication (Sync/Async), and tiering.
* Conduct firmware upgrades, storage expansions, and performance tuning.
