Indigenous Education Specialist
The successful candidate will be contributing to the academic teaching and research goals of the Faculty of Arts and Society by delivering high-quality education, advancing research in Indigenous Knowledge and Education, and fostering strong partnerships with First Nation communities.
The position involves teaching and coordinating units within the Faculty of Arts and Society, particularly in Indigenous Knowledge and Indigenous Education, as well as leading initiatives that support the development and delivery of innovative programs through the First Nations Teacher Education Hub.
Key responsibilities include:
* Teaching and coordinating units within the Faculty of Arts and Society, particularly in Indigenous Knowledge and Indigenous Education;
* Leading initiatives that support the development and delivery of innovative programs through the First Nations Teacher Education Hub;
* Curriculum development, research, and community engagement to ensure that educational offerings are culturally responsive and aligned with the needs and aspirations of First Nation communities.
About the Position
As an Indigenous Education Specialist, you will lead and innovate within your teaching practice, fostering a learning environment that respects and integrates Indigenous knowledge systems and pedagogies.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Indigenous cultures, histories, and epistemologies, as well as experience in teaching and curriculum development. They will be passionate about promoting Indigenous education and working collaboratively with First Nation communities.
