Cape York NRM is seeking a dedicated and passionate Program Coordinator - Pest Management to play a pivotal role in driving the organisation's mission and objectives. Cape York NRM will host the Program Coordinator - Pest Management for the Cape York and Wet Tropics NRM regions, in collaboration with Terrain NRM (Wet Tropics), with funding provided through the Queensland Feral Pest Initiative (QFPI).

Employment Terms
Full Time 37.5hrs/week, fixed term contract to 30 April 2027
Salary: $47.07/hr ($91,790 per annum) negotiable with experience, 5 weeks annual leave with 17.5% annual leave loading, plus superannuation guarantee
Selection Criteria
* Demonstrated experience in agricultural science, environmental science or a closely related field, with technical skills/knowledge of best practice biosecurity practices, pest animal management and weed management, or related subjects.
* Demonstrated time management skills with the ability to manage projects and meet deadlines.
* Demonstrated ability and willingness to work effectively with diverse stakeholder groups (farmers, graziers, Indigenous landholders, and community and industry groups, government agencies; and in particular First Nations stakeholders).
* Demonstrated experience in effective project management including work planning and prioritisation, monitoring, evaluation and reporting against work plan and project outcomes.
* Demonstrated community engagement experience with the ability to engage across all sectors with experience and/or working knowledge of Far North Queensland regional NRM and biosecurity issues.
* Demonstrated ability to work independently while identifying and analysing problems. Proven track record of developing effective solutions and implementing sustainable improvements.
* Demonstrated knowledge and experience to adhere to Workplace Health and Safety considerations and demonstrated awareness of requirements of Employment Equity, Ethical Conduct and the Anti-Discrimination Act.
Qualifications and Experience Essential
* Current Australian Class C driver's licence.
* Ability to work flexible hours, i.e. out-of-ordinary hours and weekends, as this role will require frequent remote area travel.
* A current Blue Card and criminal history check are required before the commencement of employment
* Legal right to work in Australia (citizen, permanent resident, or valid visa).
