We are seeking a fully qualified High School Visual Art Teacher to join our Secondary School team. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate and skilled educator to inspire students and contribute meaningfully to a collaborative and professional school environment.
About the Role
The successful applicant will be responsible for delivering engaging and inclusive Art programs aligned with the Australian Curriculum for secondary students. The role includes planning, teaching, assessing, and reporting on student learning, as well as contributing to the wider life of the school.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan and deliver high-quality Art lessons for High School students
* Design creative, engaging, and differentiated learning experiences
* Assess student learning and provide timely, meaningful feedback
* Maintain accurate records of student progress and achievement
* Create a positive, well-managed, and inclusive classroom environment
* Work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to whole-school initiatives
* Communicate effectively with students, families, and staff
Selection Criteria
Applicants should demonstrate:
* Relevant tertiary teaching qualifications with the ability to teach High School Art
* A strong understanding of secondary curriculum, assessment, and pedagogy
* Effective classroom management and student engagement strategies
* Commitment to student well-being and inclusive education practices
* Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively
Mandatory Requirements
* Full or Provisional registration with the ACT Teacher Quality Institute (TQI)
* Current Working With Vulnerable People (WWVP) registration (or ability to obtain prior to commencement)
* Satisfactory employment screening, including referee checks
Salary
$96,000 – $136,000 per annum, well above the applicable Teachers Award
Salary will be commensurate with registration status and relevant experience
