About This Role
Your new role:
As a Pharmacy Assistant, you will work closely with Pharmacists to ensure safe, compliant and efficient medication services across hospital and health service facilities. Your work will directly contribute to positive patient outcomes and service excellence.
You Will
Prepare, dispense and supply medicines under Pharmacist supervision, including controlled and trial medicinesSupport medicines distribution, stock control, repackaging and automated medication systemsMaintain accurate records, input data into medicines information systems and assist with inventory managementContribute to quality improvement, environmental monitoring and safe workplace practices
About You
You are a detail-oriented and team-focused professional with a strong understanding of hospital pharmacy operations and medicines management.
You Bring
Certificate III in Hospital/Health Services Pharmacy Support (HLT37115) and Community Pharmacy (SIR30116) plus HLTPA001 module (or equivalent)Knowledge of generic, trade and chemical medicine names and the ability to interpret prescriptionsUnderstanding of medicines legislation, Good Manufacturing Practice, PBS/SAS schemes and hospital inventory processesStrong organisational, interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary teamCommitment to quality standards, workplace safety and culturally respectful care

Princess Alexandra Hospital:
The Princess Alexandra Hospital (PAH) is a tertiary health care centre providing care in most major adult specialties. We provide world class health care to Brisbane City's southern suburbs across emergency, medical, mental health and surgical services, including liver and kidney transplant.
We are nationally recognised for our expertise in trauma management and organ transplants and are one of Australia's leading academic and research health centres. The PAH as a major medical research precinct hosts Australia's most advanced medical research facility, the Translational Research Institute (TRI) as well as a new Clinical Research Facility for the discoveries made at TRI to be trialed in a safe clinical environment.
We're expanding our hospital to make sure everyone gets the care they need. We're adding more beds, modernising our buildings, and improving our spaces to treat kidney and cancer patients with all new services and facilities planned to open by 2027.
