About Us
Collectiv. Accounting is a modern, fast-growing firm supporting small businesses across Australia. We care deeply about the relationships we build and operate with genuine care, strong ethics, and a forward-thinking approach to service.
Our clients are real people building meaningful businesses, and we treat them that way. We take the time to understand their goals, back their ideas, and support them with practical advice that actually makes a difference.
In just 18 months, we've been nominated for both regional and national awards which is a reflection of the standards we hold and the care we bring to everything we do.
We're now looking for someone to join our team who takes pride in their work, values relationships, and thrives in a fast-paced, high-performing environment.
The Opportunity
This is a flexible role with the option to join us on a contract or employee basis. Whether you're looking for part-time hours or ready to grow into something more, we're open to shaping the position around the right person.
You'll take ownership of client work, manage your own workflow, and be part of a small, supportive team doing meaningful work.
What You'll Be Doing
You've already got the foundations covered such as tax returns, financials, BAS prep and Xero is second nature. You're ready to take the lead on client work and become a trusted part of their business journey.
In this role, you'll:
* Manage a portfolio of small business clients
* Prepare and lodge tax returns (individuals, companies, trusts, partnerships)
* Handle BAS, IAS, payroll, STP and super compliance
* Oversee bookkeeping and reconciliations across multiple files
* Review files, resolve queries, and keep everything clearly documented
* Build strong client relationships through proactive communication and support
* Be available for quick calls and check-ins when needed
You'll also be part of the bigger conversations like:
* Tax planning and end-of-year results
* Cashflow forecasts or business planning
* Strategic reviews and practical advice to help clients grow
We work closely with our clients year-round, and we're known for being responsive, thoughtful, and practical. You'll have the freedom to manage your work and the support to keep growing along the way.
A bit about you
You're confident in your skills and genuinely care about doing great work for your clients. You've spent time in public practice, worked with a range of businesses, and feel at home in Xero.
You're someone who's organised, thoughtful, and comfortable managing your own workload. You like variety, stay calm under pressure, and know how to get things done when priorities shift.
You're tech-savvy, communicate clearly, and value being part of a small team where your input is appreciated.
We're looking for someone who:
* Has a degree in accounting (or higher)
* Has experience working in public practice
* Is confident using Xero across multiple client files
* Is comfortable managing their own time and tasks
* Brings a mix of capability, care, and curiosity to their work
* Holds Australian work rights
If you like meaningful client work, a bit of flexibility, and being part of a team that values people, we'd like to hear from you.
Remuneration
Remuneration will be based on your experience, the scope of the role, and the number of hours you're looking to work. We're committed to offering a package that reflects the value you bring.
