About the role
Elk is an upmarket cafe that loves not only bringing seasonal produce to the table of our customers but also giving every diner a great Elk experience. We pride ourselves on being apart of leading hospitality establishments passionate about this industry. We change our menus every season to showcase new flavours and specialty dishes give our kitchen team to shine. Customer experience is at the center of everything we do, from table service to specialty coffee, to seasonal menus and the staff we hire. For the last 13 years we have been constantly featured in magazines, newspapers & online publications not only for what we create but for being at the forefront of this industry. We seat almost 200 customers at any one time so we are a busy establishment and obviously looking for someone who has the experience and attitude to thrive in environment that is always on the go.
You will play a vital role in creating, outworking and presenting seasonal menus and dishes that customers will remember. This is an excellent opportunity to grow your career in the hospitality industry.
What we're looking for
* Extensive experience in a busy restaurant or cafe environment in a similar leadership role
* Strong technical cooking skills and a passion for creating delicious, visually appealing dishes
* Excellent time management and multitasking abilities to thrive in a fast-paced kitchen
* A team-oriented mindset and someone who knows how to have fun at whilst working
* Leadership and communication skills
* A true passion for food and the hospitality industry
* Creative and interested in food and being developed in their skills
