Job Overview
The Electrical Lead Hand is a senior role within the workshop, responsible for overseeing the repair and maintenance of generators and welding equipment. As a skilled Electrician with leadership experience, you will play a critical part in ensuring our clients' equipment is performance-ready.
This position involves leading a team of technicians, servicing and maintaining industry-leading equipment, and conducting on-site testing and inspections. To be successful, you will require strong technical expertise, exceptional diagnostic and troubleshooting skills, and the ability to motivate and lead your team.
* Generator Repairs: Diagnose and repair generators ranging from 20kVA to 500kVA, including Caterpillar and Denyo models.
* Welding Equipment Maintenance: Test and service mains-powered and engine-driven welding machines to ensure top performance.
* Mobile Services: Perform on-site testing, calibration, and inspections for clients using advanced electronic systems.
* Workshop Testing: Conduct workshop testing with load banks of up to 1,000 amps for welders and 500kVA for power generators.
* Fault Detection: Use tools such as graphical meters, VRD testing equipment, and predictive devices to identify and address potential issues.
* Record Keeping: Maintain accurate service and repair logs to ensure compliance and provide client insights.
In addition to technical duties, the Electrical Lead Hand will be responsible for:
* Team Supervision: Lead and mentor workshop staff, providing guidance and support to maintain high performance.
* Work Allocation: Assign tasks to team members, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to deadlines.
* Quality Assurance: Oversee work completed in the workshop to ensure it meets safety and quality standards.
* Training: Provide training and upskilling opportunities for team members to enhance their technical abilities.
* Health & Safety: Promote a strong safety culture within the workshop, ensuring compliance with all regulations.
* Problem Solving: Act as the first point of contact for escalated issues, providing solutions in a timely manner.
