This position will effectively manage, streamline and safeguard all warehouse operations and deliveries to customers within the WA and National Loan customer base. Control the receipt, warehousing, transport and distribution of the range of advanced surgical device products and equipment. The role also involves responsibilities as a member of the ANZ operations management team to support a functional role for ANZ.
What will you be doing?
1. Manage the daily running of the WA operations to ensure bookings are completed in a timely manner to meet surgery dates.
2. Support the Sales force in liaising with Customers' back office team and understanding their needs.
3. Manage business relationships with key stakeholders such as customer service and sales.
People
1. Provide leadership and comply with Smith and Nephew people processes.
2. Maximize employee engagement and ensure consistency.
3. Ensure daily shifts are covered, organizing employee requirements during absences and coordinating the on-call roster.
4. Promote and ensure a safe work environment, complying with relevant acts, policies, and standards.
Inventory Management
1. Manage in transit reports and reconcile weekly.
2. Manage cycle counts and stock takes as scheduled.
3. Optimize stock turns and shelf life management to improve efficiency and minimize stock write-offs.
4. Ensure all returns are processed into SAP promptly.
5. Manage inventory rotation and removal of expired items.
6. Oversee stock management practices supporting stock on consignment, including rotation, expiration removal, and accuracy.
7. Coordinate re-pack/re-label activities per specifications.
8. Minimize E&O and scrap, and meet service level expectations such as DIFOT and utilization.
Reporting
1. Conduct warehousing, distribution, and customer service reporting with analysis and recommendations.
2. Monitor inventory, E&O, scrap, DIFOT, LIFR, and utilization metrics.
3. Address customer service issues proactively.
Problem Resolution
1. Identify booking discrepancies and implement CAPA to minimize risk.
2. Investigate and reconcile stock discrepancies.
3. Lead exception management in NDC and Loan areas.
Logistics
1. Manage domestic and international shipping, ensuring timely communication.
2. Control freight costs within budget.
3. Ensure compliance with procedures for instrument and implant delivery.
4. Oversee team activities related to kit, clean, and distribute loan sets.
5. Review logistics processes to enhance customer experience.
What will you need to be successful?
1. Certificate in warehousing and distribution.
2. Certificate IV in frontline management or relevant management qualification (desirable).
3. MBA (essential).
4. Experience in customer service and supply chain environments.
5. Proven leadership and team motivation skills.
6. Experience managing operational costs from a P&L perspective (desirable).
7. Experience with loan set operations, consignment stock, and Kit/BOM setup.
8. Experience working with contaminated materials.
9. Exposure to Six Sigma methodologies.
10. Technical knowledge of medical devices (essential).
