About the Role A large public sector organisation is seeking an experienced Senior Software Developer to join a high-performing digital team delivering large-scale, customer-facing platforms.
You will contribute to the development, enhancement and support of widely used digital services, including web platforms, mobile applications, journey planning systems, and real-time data services.
This is an opportunity to work on high-traffic, mission-critical systems used daily by hundreds of thousands of users.
Key Responsibilities
* Design, develop and maintain web applications, APIs and backend services
* Build and support integrations across CMS, APIs, real-time systems and front-end platforms
* Develop secure, scalable and maintainable code following best practices
* Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues
* Analyse logs, monitoring data and performance metrics
* Participate in code reviews and Agile delivery practices
* Support CI/CD pipelines, deployments and release processes
* Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors
* Produce technical documentation and system diagrams
* Contribute to platform performance, reliability and continuous improvement
Key Technical Skills
* ASP.NET Core Web API (C#)
* Next.js / React
* Tailwind CSS
* GraphQL and REST APIs
* Microsoft SQL Server
* Azure Functions & Service Bus (event-driven architecture)
Desirable Experience
* Microsoft Azure cloud services
* Application monitoring tools (e.g. Application Insights)
* Analytics platforms (e.g. Google Analytics)
* Headless CMS platforms (e.g. Drupal)
Key Experience
* Building and supporting large-scale digital platforms and APIs
* Developing data-driven websites using headless CMS + C# APIs
* Implementing modern front-end frameworks (Next.js, Tailwind)
* Integrating front-end applications with backend services
* Working with Azure cloud infrastructure
* Supporting CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps)
* Writing unit tests (Jest, NUnit)
* Working in Agile delivery environments
* Supporting production deployments and ongoing operations

Working Arrangements
* Hybrid: 3 days onsite, 2 days remote
