At Townsville Logistics, we are seeking a Data Analyst who provides clear, accurate performance interpretations through data analysis and reporting supporting operational and financial decision-making, and performance monitoring.
This is a practical, data-driven position requiring active involvement. Working closely with business leaders and the finance team to transform daily operational data into meaningful insights that drive performance, efficiency, and growth.
This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented analyst who enjoys working with data, creating reports, and gaining a deep understanding of complex logistics operations.
Skills And Experiences
Key Responsibilities
Reporting directly into the business, your responsibilities will include:
1. Gathering and consolidating operational data from multiple business units
2. Analysing data such as equipment movements, commodities, fuel usage, delays, labour costs and other operational inputs
3. Sorting and categorising data by customer, commodity, and business unit
4. Verifying and adding all associated costs to ensure data accuracy and integrity
5. Creating, updating, and maintaining reports using tools such as Power BI and Excel
6. As your business knowledge grows, proactively identifying trends, anomalies, and key areas of concern and presenting these insights to relevant stakeholders

8. Report creation, maintenance, and enhancement
9. Data extraction, verification, analysis, and interpretation
10. Supporting operational and financial decision-making through accurate insights
Skills & Experience
To be successful in this role, you will bring:

11. Bachelor's degree in:
* Business Analytics
* Data Analytics / Data Science
* Information Systems
* Business (with analytics, finance, or operations major)
* Commerce (analytics, finance, or accounting focus)
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* A high level of attention to detail and data accuracy
* Experience designing and building Power BI reports and dashboards end-to-end
* High-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel and MS Office
* Competency working within Microsoft Windows OS
* The ability to learn business processes and in-house systems quickly
* Strong time management skills with the ability to work independently when required
* A proactive, reliable work ethic with a high level of accountability
* Clear and confident verbal communication skills
