Lead, manage and develop the Business Service Unit that undertakes the finance and human resource functions for the OCG.
- Provide authoritative, high-level advice to OCG's management and staff on human resource management practices and processes including:
- operational and tactical human resource matters relating to employment, employee relations and industrial relations issues in line with legislations, directives and policy
- strategic human resource matters including talent management, competencies and succession planning, career development, performance management and reporting
- workplace health and safety matters relating to OCG public service officers and employees.
- Coordinate regular reporting the Executive Leadership team of OCG on the Offices financial performance.
- Contribute risk-based guidance to OCG managers and leaders to support informed and quality decision making related to financial, human capital and workplace matters.
- Provide regular reporting analysis and advice on OCG's finance and human resources issues and performance in terms of budget allocations, position classifications, remuneration levels, FTE allocations and vacancies having regard for risk, legal and strategic considerations to assist with decision making processes at organisational level.
- Build and maintain relationships with the department's Corporate Finance, Human Resources, and Organisational Development teams to maintain knowledge and relevance; and to support, and improve capability and confidence of, OCG's managers and directors in contemporary and responsive finance and human resource management.
- Review performance and provide input into OCG's strategic workforce plan, operational plan and business improvement initiatives.
- Implement best practice systems and procedures to ensure that finance and human resource functions meet the relevant legislative and statutory commitments, in line with departmental requirements.
- Provide input to the development, communication and implementation of organisational initiatives to ensure smooth transition and mínimal impact on project delivery teams.
- Establish and maintain positive working relationships and partnerships with intra-agency and inter-agency stakeholders to ensure effective outcomes.
- Provide guidance, support and training to administrative support to staff and coordinate activities to ensure the delivery of effective business administration and support services across the organisation.
- Oversee and coordinate OCG's ICT needs in consultation with the departmental ICT area. Act as a conduit between OCG and departmental facilities teams to ensure accommodation provisions and physical facilities are provided and suitable to the organisation's requirements.
