Job Title: AHP Trainee Support Manager (Identified)

Employment Type: Full Time

Contract Duration: Ongoing, dependent on funding

Salary: $120,720 - $144,634 per annum.

Generous salary packaging: $15,899.94p/a

Reports to: Executive Manager - People & Capability

Subsidised Accommodation: Available for candidates outside the Barkly Region.

About us

Anyinginyi Health Aboriginal Corporation (AHAC) is a multi-disciplinary organisation which provides primary health care services to the Aboriginal people of Tennant Creek and the surrounding Barkly region, dedicated to 'Closing the Gap' in Aboriginal health within remote Australia.

Anyinginyi consists of 6 different sections (Corporate Governance, People and Capabilities, Health Services, Business Services, Public Health and Piliyintinji-Ki Stronger Families Section) which allow them to have a holistic approach to health ensuring that clients' physical, emotional, mental and general health and well-being is given the utmost priority.



Anyinginyi's mission is to be a provider of high-quality primary health care services, featuring prevention and treatment in the Barkly region in a culturally responsive way.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY



The ACCHO Student Support Manager’s role is to ensure that student(s) undertaking the Aboriginal Health Worker and/or Aboriginal Health Practitioner qualification, and supervised clinical placements are culturally safe, supported and work ready. The nature of the support required will vary between students based on their needs.





Key Duties & Responsibilities

* Provide the following support services to ensure students are culturally safe and supported to complete their qualification and supervised clinical placements through:
o You will maintain the relationship between the RTO, ACCHO and student
o Provide social, mental and general well-being support
o Monitor attendance
o Represent the organisation and advocate cultural diversity
o You will be providing training and implement advocacy of Individual and group learning support plans.
o Facilitate and coordinate successful projects
o Liaise with RTO to co-ordinate student travel, accommodation and allowances,
o Undertake community and student employer site visits (where applicable)
o Ongoing stakeholder engagement with employer, students and broader community
* Completion of reporting requirements to NACCHO on student outcomes
* Promotion of the First Nations Health Worker Traineeship Program
* Recruitment of trainees in partnership with the ACCHO

Essential skills and experience:

* Be registered with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse or Aboriginal Health Practitioner. Qualifications to provide Vaccinations within the Northern Territory.
* Ability to build strong relationships within Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Students and the relevant RTO.
* Have a strong understanding of training and clinical placement requirements for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Workers and Practitioners, including compliance with ASQA and AHPRA criteria to ensure successful student completion and registration.
* Strong communication, cultural sensitivity and interpersonal skills including deep cultural understanding of the region.
* Demonstrated ability of strong record management, data collection and reporting capability through use of, MS Word and MS Teams (or similar).
* Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively with a range of stakeholders, with a high degree of initiative and problem-solving skills.
* Strong understanding of and demonstrated ability within the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community-Controlled health sector.
* Strong understanding of additional student support services available within region
* Current NT Drivers Licence.

Desirable:

Experience in Aboriginal Health Practitioner (AHP). Mentoring or delivering training and support to health workers/practitioners.

* A National Police Clearance and Ochre Card (NT Working with Children’s) card is a mandatory requirement prior to commencement in this role. Please refer to NT Safe for further information.
