Internships are delivered as part of a formal education or training course with a tertiary educational institution. If you are interested in volunteering, you can find more information here.

Belco Arts partners with tertiary education institutions to offer tailored internship opportunities across our program to grow student experience and develop skills, and to strengthen the local creative industry workforce.

We are currently offering internships in: exhibition installation and management; and marketing and promotions. They can be tailored from one or more of these areas to suit the interests of the student and the requirements of their course. Internships are delivered in person during business hours with after hours and weekend activities by agreement, depending on the program.

Internships are unpaid and must be undertaken as a requirement of an education or training course through a tertiary educational institutions. They are delivered through a written agreement between the student, educational organisation, and Belco Arts. We have existing arrangements with the University of Canberra and Australian National University, but welcome expressions of interest from students at any Australian university or TAFE.

"Interning at Belco Arts has been an enriching experience for me that has helped enhance my understanding of the art world as an emerging artist. I'm grateful for the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in marketing and exhibition installation with the guidance of the friendly staff who were supportive in helping me develop professional and creative skills." Belco Arts Intern 2024

"I had an incredible experience interning at the Belconnen Arts Centre. The amazingly supportive environment and wide range of hands-on opportunities allowed me to develop both my skills and confidence in the arts industry. From working on exhibition installs to engaging with the community, every day was a chance to learn something new and to contribute something meaningful. I highly recommend an internship at Belco Arts to anyone passionate about the arts who is looking to gain real-world experience in a dynamic and welcoming space." Belco Arts Intern 2024
