While your immediate team consists of four driven traders and quantitative analysts, you will also be part of MFT Energy’s broader international organization—comprising more than 190 professionals across offices in Denmark, Singapore, Türkiye, the US, and remote colleagues.Your work areas will revolve around analyzing market data, forecasting price movements, building custom tools, and delivering insights that empower trading decisions.Your Key ResponsibilitiesAnalyze large datasets related to electricity markets to uncover critical trends and patternsBuild, refine, and maintain forecasting models for energy prices and market risk evaluationCollaborate closely with traders to enhance trading strategies and risk management practicesDesign and implement custom software tools to streamline market analysis and automate reporting workflowsPartner with internal teams and stakeholders to continuously enhance market analytics and forecasting capabilitiesStay informed on industry developments, regulatory changes, and market dynamics, and regularly provide strategic insights to senior managementYour Qualifications And Personal SkillsA Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant discipline such as Economics, Engineering, or Computer SciencePractical experience working with the AEMO MMS Database is a mustPrior exposure to spot trading in the Australian electricity market is advantageousSolid understanding of electricity market fundamentals, including pricing mechanisms, market structure, and regulatory frameworksProficient in software development, with experience in programming languages such as Python, Java, R, or C++Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, particularly in handling large and complex datasetsExcellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distill and convey complex information to non-technical stakeholdersMeticulous attention to detail and the capability to perform effectively under tight deadlinesWorking in MFT EnergyYou will be part of an ambitious, global, and vibrant organization, consisting of more than 190 professionals working out of our headquarters in Denmark and from our international offices in Türkiye, Australia, New York City, and Singapore, and several remote colleagues working from all over the world.
