This is an excellent opportunity for a Mechanical Engineering – Fitter/Turner Apprentice to join our team.
This role suits someone who thrives in a hands-on, structured environment, enjoys solving technical challenges, and is eager to develop practical skills while earning a nationally recognised qualification.Key Responsibilities: Clean, lubricate and prepare equipment for operation or servicing Learn and apply safety procedures and basic machine operation lathe, drill press Develop simple machining and turning skills including facing, drilling, tapping, and centre drilling Work with a variety of hand and power tools, as well as a lathe and drill press Assist with basic assembly and disassembly of mechanical systems Assist with welding, servicing, and repairing mechanical components Support the setup, operation, and maintenance of machinery Collaborate closely with a skilled team of fitters and electricians Fabricate and maintain parts used in equipment for domestic and international markets Troubleshoot mechanical issues and contribute to efficient problem solving Follow safety protocols and maintain high quality workmanship What we offer: Fully paid apprenticeship with early Friday finishes Nationally recognised Certificate III in Mechanical Engineering Hands on training with industry standard tools and equipment All training fees and PPE covered (no out of pocket costs) Ongoing mentoring from experienced professionals Opportunities for regional and interstate travel with allowances A launchpad for a rewarding career in mechanical and electrical engineering What we are looking for: Australian citizenship or permanent residency Completion of Year 10 or higher Driver's licence White Card National Police Check Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Genuine interest in technology, robotics, and metalwork Solid numeracy and literacy skills A positive attitude and strong work ethic About Ai GroupAi Group Apprentice and Trainee Centre is a Group Training Organisation that partner with Australia's best companies, producing powerful outcomes for apprentices and trainees.
