Chez Jean-Claude Patisserie is looking for an experienced Baker to join our highly skilled team. We brought to Perth, 'The Swiss Art of Baking' and had been providing our customers with an amazing variety of breads, cakes, pastries and sandwiches since 1997.
As a baker, you will be responsible to follow recipes accurately, prepare and bake a wide variety of bread and other baked goods, do quality checks on ingredients and finished items and maintain a clean and organised work area. You should be creative, passionate about baking, and able to work well in a team environment.
Responsibilities
* Stock calculation for daily production
* Setting up work station and organizing required ingredients and equipment
* Weighing ingredients and ensuring right quantity and quality is used
* Kneading, rolling, cutting, shaping and moulding dough
* Using modern machinery correctly in line with company food preparation processes
* Monitoring ovens and estimating baking times
* Producing sourdough, loaves, rolls, baking cakes, pastries and artisan breads in line with company baking operations
* Evaluating and assessing baked produce to ensure food production is efficient and of consistently high quality
* Using hygienic practices for food safety in line with OHS and company regulations
* Ensuring produce is prepared in quantities which are in line with daily requirements and wastage reports
* Organizing display and packaging of baked goods
* Storing ingredients and equipment correctly
* Ensuring a clean and hygienic work environment at all times
* Working as part of a team and liaising with Management
* Loading and unloading breads in oven
* Monitoring the blaster freezer and prover machines
* Monitor stock for next day's production
Qualifications And Experience
Minimum qualification required is Certificate III or equivalent with 3 years full-time required relevant work experience.
Skills And Personal Attributes
* Good hand-eye coordination
* Good organisational skills
* Ability to read and follow recipes, to be creative
* Ability to follow strict health and safety standards
* Good health with no skin or breathing complaints
* Ability to meet strict deadlines
* Knowledge of use and maintenance of modern bakery equipment is a must
* Demonstrated consistent industry experience will be highly regarded
* Must be fast, efficient and reliable worker
* Maintain a neat and clean appearance at all times
