Primary objective
Manage the delivery of complex building and construction projects, including capital works, and lead the activities of Project Managers,
Project Officers, and external service providers to ensure the provision of high-quality advice and services to client agencies across the
Alice Springs region. Oversee all phases of the clients' Building Programs and major project planning to ensure projects are delivered in a
timely, cost-effective, and professional manner in line with Northern Territory Government (NTG) standards and objectives.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Undertake the role of Senior Project Manager across a diverse range of client agency projects, ensuring compliance with departmental
policies, NTG legislation, and relevant construction and technical standards, including the management of complex building
infrastructure and capital works projects.
1. Contribute to the overall success of the work unit by effectively managing the multi-disciplinary aspects of building services projects,
including Electrical, Mechanical (Refrigeration/Air Conditioning), and Plumbing components, and coordinating these disciplines within
large-scale construction environments.
1. Provide expert project leadership, direction, and support to Project Managers to ensure the successful delivery of complex and higher-
risk projects that meet agreed time, cost, quality, and performance targets.
2. Engage with client agencies throughout all stages of projects, ensuring they are informed and involved in key decision-making
processes, including any matters affecting delivery timeframes, costs, or facility functionality, and maintain effective relationships with
senior-level stakeholders.
1. Manage financial, procurement, and reporting responsibilities for assigned projects and programs, ensuring compliance with
governance, probity, and accountability requirements, including NTG procurement processes and NPWC contract conditions where
applicable.
1. Provide strategic advice and technical input on capital works planning, program delivery, and operational improvements to support
regional service delivery outcomes.

Selection criteria
Essential
1. A relevant qualification awarded by an Australian institution, or equivalent; or extensive relevant experience in a field of technical work
closely related to the duties of the position
1. Substantial knowledge and experience in the effective delivery of multi-disciplinary building services projects, including Electrical,
Mechanical (Refrigeration/Air Conditioning), and Plumbing, in a client-focused and dynamic environment, with proven experience
managing higher-complexity project environments.
1. Extensive knowledge and experience in project planning, procurement, and contract management, including the ability to manage and
supervise contractors and consultants effectively in accordance with contract conditions, including NTG and NPWC-aligned processes.
1. Demonstrated experience in developing, delivering, and improving building programs within a government or large organisational
framework, with experience coordinating or contributing to capital works planning and project program management.
1. Proven ability to apply high-level oral and written communication, problem-solving, negotiation, and leadership skills, with the ability
to build and maintain strong professional relationships with clients, colleagues, and senior-level stakeholders.
1. Sound understanding of remote and cross-cultural issues affecting project delivery in complex cultural and geographic environments
and the ability to interact effectively with people of diverse cultures.
1. Current NT Driver's Licence or ability to obtain.

1. Qualification in Contract Management, Project Management, or a related discipline.
1. Sound understanding of business management practices and commercial drivers relevant to infrastructure project delivery.
