About the opportunity
The UX/UI Lead role will be a key member of a dynamic team.
Bringing extensive experience and leadership qualities, The UX/UI Lead will mentor other team members on creating user personas, journey maps and broader design and prototyping tasks.
The UX/UI Lead will collaborate closely with stakeholders, including business areas and the executive team, to gather requirements, iterate on designs based on feedback, and ensure that the final products meet user needs and align with the department's goals.
Responsibilities
User Research and Analysis
Conduct user research to understand the needs and pain points of users.
Analyse user feedback and usability test results to inform design decisions.
Create user personas, journey maps, and conduct user interviews.
Design and Prototyping
Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs using tools like Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, XD).
Design intuitive and visually appealing interfaces that enhance user experience.
Develop and maintain design systems to ensure consistency across platforms.
Provide expert guidance on the development, governance, and adoption of design systems across multiple teams and products.
Champion accessibility by ensuring compliance with WCAG ******* AA and AAA standards.
Stakeholder Engagement
Collaborate with stakeholders, including business areas and the executive team.
Gather requirements, iterate on designs based on feedback, and present design solutions to stakeholders.
Coordinate stakeholder engagement for requirements gathering and design reviews.
Project Management
Manage projects and meet design requirements as directed by the project lead(s).
Identify and manage risks and escalating issues to the project lead(s) when necessary.
Required experience
Demonstrated experience in conducting user research and testing with a government environment.
Demonstrated experience with creating wireframes/prototypes to develop user-centred designs.
Demonstrated experience in developing and maintaining design systems to ensure consistency and efficiency in the design and development process.
Demonstrated experience working within a multi-disciplinary team and the ability to mentor and assist other team members.
Proven ability to collaborate with product managers, developers and subject-matter experts to achieve a shared goal.
Sound knowledge and demonstrated proficiency in contemporary design software applications.
Ability to collaborate within agile teams (Scrum, Kanban) to deliver high-quality UX/UI designs using Figma.
Effectively communicate design rationale and insights effectively to stakeholders at all levels.
