A little about the role
As aSeniorSocial Worker, you will be:
- Using the Key Assets Practice framework alongside other evidence informed practice and evidence based programs, work with clients to collaboratively engage them in identifying issues/needs and setting goals to build and strengthen their capacity and address areas of risk to ensure safety of children and young people.
- Providing supervision and coaching to team members and new starters as required, in line with practice framework guidelines and Key Asset's supervision policy.
- Providing regular support via telephone and face to face visits to foster carers including occasional unannounced visits, ensuring these visits are all recorded.
- Supporting culturally responsive services to First Nations children, young people and carers promoting family led decision making.
- Ensuring that the protection of children and their welfare is given the absolute priority in all activities and events, while also ensuring that the children/young person's opinions are sought over all issues likely to affect their daily life.
- Supporting and coaching foster carers to learn and grow in confidence and ability guided by the Key Assets Practice Framework for Foster Care, and in adherence with organisational and Departmental legislation, policy, procedures, standards and competencies.
The base salary for this position is$97,377.80 - $101,787.92 per annum + super + vehicle & fuel card + salary packaging options up to $15,900 per annum.
This position is a full-time, ongoing opportunity.
Note that there are roles available in the both the Foster Care and Kinship & Families for Life Teams. Applicant to please indicate their preference in their application.
About you
To be successful in this role, you'll come with:
- Degree or Masters in Social Work with eligibility for registration with AASW
- Prior experience working with and/or on behalf of children, young people and families
- Experience in undertaking comprehensive assessments to develop, implement, monitor and review client plans
- Knowledge of various Child Protection Legislation, Government initiatives and agendas across ACT.
- Tenacity, diligence and resilience - with the ability to adopt a creative approach to problem solving in a fast-paced environment.
