As a Senior Accountant, they are looking for someone who shares the same vision and values. You'll play a key role in managing core accounting functions, preparing financial statements, maintaining compliance and partnering with SME clients. You will also provide guidance and mentorship to junior members of the accounting team.
Day to day you’ll:
* Manage strategic relationships with SME clients offering proactive accounting advice.
* Manage end-to-end financial transactions
* Prepare accurate and timely financial reports (balance sheets, income statements and cash flow statements)
* Ensure all financial activities comply with relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements
* Assist in the preparation of annual budgets, financial forecasts, and variance analysis
* Reconcile bank accounts and other financial data, investigating and resolving discrepancies
* Support internal and external audits and contribute to the preparation of tax returns and compliance documentation
* Mentor and grow the capability of junior accountants, helping them grow professionally and ensuring high-quality work
As the ideal candidate you’ll:
* Hold a BA in Accounting, Finance or related
* Have completed or be working towards completing CPA or CA qualifications
* Bring 3 - 5 years of practical financial accounting experience, partnering with SME clients across a range of industry sectors
* Have a strong understanding of Australian Taxation requirements (Income Tax, GST, FBT and Payroll Tax), in addition to knowledge of Accounting Standards and Principals
* Lead, mentor and build team capability through sharing your technical expertise
* Operate with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy
* Have MS Excel and accounting systems proficiency (Xero, MYOB or similar)
