About this opportunity
As Maintenance Manager at our new Greystanes site, you will provide leadership for the operation and maintenance of all industrial plant and equipment, installation design and upgrade changes. The key focus of the role is to support Safety, Quality, Production and continuous improvement through condition and functions that underpin improvement, inclusive of contractor management. With your expertise and leadership you will participate in and lead projects including capital initiatives.
Key responsibilities
* Safety leadership of team and crews with regular participation in hazard ID's, Safety Behavioural Observations (Audits), risk assessments and WHSE campaigns that actively drive a culture of behavioural safety.
* Scheduling, supervising and progressing the condition and PM maintenance practices and schedules to efficiently support the production line equipment and supporting services of the manufacturing process to minimise production downtime.
* Promoting improvements to safety systems in use on all equipment and production lines.
* Continuing development of reporting and carrying out regular Toolbox Talk meetings on Safety and Quality.
* Managing maintenance records to demonstrate adherence to standards and allow for analysis and improvement of maintenance spend.
* Co‐ordinating the requirements for new equipment designs, surveys and maintenance schedules to applicable Australian Standards.
* Co‐ordinating all contractor support, services and maintenance activity inclusive of cost and quote establishment, induction completion, JSEA completion and other risk assessments.
* Leading discussion and implementation on engineering design upgrade improvements.
* Assisting with long‐term capital planning and implementing capital projects.
* Playing an active part in highlighting areas for reducing production costs such as waste and setup time.
* Managing the forecast compilation process, which includes owning the short‐term weekly plan and the long‐term forecast (three or more months).
* Implementing supply chain improvement initiatives, ensuring the improvement of forecast accuracy and inventory levels.
* Performing root‐cause analysis for continuous plan improvement for key service issues, forecast error and bias.
Your skills and experience
To be successful in this role, you'll have:
* Minimum Five (5) years' experience in a Maintenance team leadership role within a 24/5 manufacturing environment.
* Injection moulding experience highly regarded.
* Understanding of OEE, root‐cause analysis and TPM operations.
* Demonstrated track record of continuous improvement of processes.
* Sound understanding of manufacturing financial/cost control.
* Familiarity with SAP system (beneficial).
* Results‐oriented mindset.
* Experience managing large capital projects.
Qualifications
* Degree in Mechanical or Electrical engineering.
* Minimum trades and tertiary qualifications in Mechanical engineering and/or Mechatronics.
* Electrical qualifications well regarded.
