Job Overview
Delta Group's Project Engineer – Demolition will assist in the design and delivery of complex demolition projects across Victoria. The role requires a focus on safety, quality, and environmental performance.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist with project planning, cost tracking, programming, and resource allocation.
* Work to the guidelines of Delta Group's triple certified QSE management systems.
* Interpret and interrogate demolition drawings.
* Apply relevant Australian Standards for demolition.
* Conduct risk assessment and management for demolition methods.
* Set up and monitor demolition scope, programme, method, and budget.
* Track status of scope, programme, method, and budget.
* Sequence and stage development and approvals.
* Accurate cost and production tracking against budget.
* Develop documentation – specification review and quality assurance.
* Engage clients and key stakeholders; manage project‐related subcontractors, suppliers and consultants.
* Liaise with Site Demolition Supervisor/Foreman.
* Procure and purchase items, including contract management for all projects.
* Estimate and develop variations, including man‐hours, costs and quantities.
* Plan, progress monitor and report, including audits and/or inspections.
* Contribute to continuous improvement of QSE management systems.
Essential Qualifications
* Relevant construction‐related qualifications (e.g., construction management, civil engineering degree).
* 2–4 years' experience in the construction/demolition industry.
* Passion for people and their safety.
* Demonstrated communication skills – verbal and written.
* High‐level decision‐making and problem‐solving skills.
Desirable Qualifications
* Proven capacity to multitask.
* High‐level proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).
* Excellent time‐management and prioritisation skills.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Computer literate with typing speed and accuracy.
