Role Overview
We are looking for a qualified and experienced Wall and Floor Tiler to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for laying ceramic, clay, slate, marble, and glass tiles on external and internal walls and floors to provide protective and decorative finishes, ensuring compliance with Australian standards and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
· Review construction drawings and specifications to plan tile layouts and determine material quantities.
· Accurately set out work areas by taking precise measurements and marking reference lines before installation begins.
· Remove existing finishes and adhesives, repair surface imperfections, and ensure substrates are smooth, clean and ready for tiling.
· Install approved waterproofing membranes and protective systems to prevent moisture penetration.
· Prepare and apply bonding compounds to floors and walls, securing tiles firmly in place.
· Trim and shape tiles with manual and powered cutting equipment to suit edges, corners and penetrations around fixtures and services.
· Position tiles carefully to maintain straight lines, consistent spacing and an even finish.
· Fill joints with grout, detail edges, and polish surfaces to achieve a clean, professional result.
· Complete specialty finishes such as terrazzo, granolithic or cement-based surfaces where specified.
· Design and install decorative arrangements and mosaic patterns using coloured or patterned tiles.
Qualifications and Experience
• A relevant AQF Certificate III in Wall and Floor Tiling or equivalent qualification.
• At least 3 years of relevant and demonstrated experience in wall and floor tiling.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
• Physical fitness to meet the physical demands of the job.
