About the role:
We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Support Worker – Aged Care Home Care to assist older clients with daily living activities and personal care. The ideal candidate will have experience in aged care, strong communication skills, and the ability to provide respectful, person-centred support.
Tasks and responsibilities:
* Provide personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
* Assist with mobility and safe transfers (including use of hoists and other equipment).
* Support with meal preparation, feeding, and monitoring nutritional needs.
* Assist with domestic assistance tasks such as house cleaning.
* Administer medication as directed by healthcare professionals.
* Offer companionship and emotional support to reduce isolation.
* Accompany clients to appointments and social activities.
* Maintain accurate records of care provided.
* Monitor changes in health and report concerns promptly.
* Ensure a safe and comfortable home environment.
Qualifications:
* Certificate III in Individual Support (Aged Care) or equivalent experience.
* Experience in aged care within home or community settings.
* Knowledge of Aged Care Quality Standards and compliance requirements.
* Manual Handling and infection control training.
* Current First Aid and CPR certification.
* Ability to pass a national police clearance.
* High level of clinical knowledge.
* Sound understanding of Aged Care and Disability Quality Standards and quality management systems.
