Pastry Cook- Product Development Role

Lifestyle Bakery is a long established and market leading company providing a unique selection of high-quality gluten free bread and bread type products.

Our bakery located in Pooraka SA currently requires a dedicated and motivated Qualified Baker to join our friendly and close-knit team of professionals.

This position is responsible for assisting our quality assurance and product development team with the development of new products and improvement to current products. The role will also include problem resolution in both product and process, and the training of staff in baking procedures.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks

* Assist with NPD Baking
* Maintaining equipment and premises cleanliness to ensure compliance with regulations
* Ensuring Quality of production materials are up to standards
* Operation of baking machinery
* Preparation of pastry materials
* Co-ordinating the pastry manufacturing process from start to end
* Assist with staff training
* Assist with process troubleshooting

To be successful in this position it is essential that you have:

* Experience in pastry dough sheeting
* Experience in assembling of sweet and savoury products
* Experience producing large quantities while maintaining consistent quality
* a professional, reliable, and motivated attitude
* excellent communication skills and a friendly disposition
* self-starter with initiative and ability to work autonomously.
* strong attention to detail at all times
* good written and verbal communication skills
* computer literate
* be proactive and have an inquisitive mind.
* be able to function effectively in a team environment with or without supervision.
* have a current driver licence.

Experience/Qualification

* Certificate 3 in Patisserie
* Certificate 4 in Commercial Cookery
* 3 years of appropriate industry experience is essential.
* Pastry baking experience essential.
* A good level of technical knowledge is also essential.
* Gluten free experience is an advantage but not essential.

Schedule

* Mondays to Fridays
* Must be flexible to work various shifts across our 24-hr roster

Remuneration

Salary Range $70,000 to $80,000 per year dependent on experience
