About the Role:
Join the Northern Adelaide Local Health Network as a Medical Education Consultant and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our medical workforce.
As part of the Medical Services Directorate, you’ll provide strong clinical leadership and work closely with the Executive Director of Medical Services and the Director of Clinical Training to ensure Interns, Trainee Medical Officers and International Medical Graduates receive high‑quality education, training, assessment and support. Your work will align with the established standards of South Australian Medical Education and Training (SA MET), Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and the Australian Medical Council (AMC), ensuring excellence across all prevocational medical education programs.
You will lead and support the Medical Education Unit, fostering professional development, strengthening stakeholder engagement and driving best‑practice educational delivery. A key focus of the role includes coordinating accreditation activities for medical student, prevocational and vocational training programs across NALHN. You will also contribute to quality, safety, clinical risk management and ongoing professional development initiatives that enhance the training environment.
To be eligible for this position, you must hold a Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent. Appropriate Specialist Qualifications and registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with Specialist registration; or another qualification as defined in the SA Medical Officers Award.
The Total Indicative Remuneration figure is calculated taking into account base salary, leave loading and superannuation as well as managerial allowances, professional development or any other allowances where appropriate.
About You:
In this role you will bring proven leadership in dynamic clinical environments, with the ability to motivate teams, think strategically and work with initiative under broad direction. Your highly developed communication, negotiation and problem‑solving skills support sound decision‑making at organisational, clinical and individual levels. You have a strong commitment to training and developing Interns, TMOs and IMGs, backed by experience designing, delivering and evaluating education programs. Your background includes senior clinical leadership, quality assurance, and a deep understanding of adult learning, best‑practice medicine, clinical risk management and emerging directions in public health. You’re well‑versed in SA MET, AHPRA and AMC standards, and bring contemporary clinical knowledge alongside the ability to lead, collaborate and adapt to change.
