ICT Network Specialist
The ICT Network Specialist will provide support to Commonwealth stakeholders, ensuring the reliability and performance of secure ICT networks. These networks underpin mission-critical operations and require a proactive approach to ensure their optimal functioning.
This role involves working collaboratively with internal teams and stakeholders to align related projects, while contributing to the growth and reputation of the organization within the Defence sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for network administration, maintenance, and upgrades, as well as implementing logging and network security systems.
The ideal candidate will possess strong Windows and Linux administration skills, expertise in JIRA administration, and experience with VMware, NetApp storage, and SQL Server. Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities, as well as strong communication and customer service skills, are essential for this role. The candidate must also demonstrate stakeholder engagement experience and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide network support to Commonwealth stakeholders
* Assist in implementing network performance monitoring systems
* Support upgrades of Linux-based systems
* Contribute to the administration of virtualisation environments
* Assist with desktop imaging system enhancements
* Support upgrades to JIRA-based services and network auditing tools
* Contribute to core hardware refresh activities
* Assist in implementing logging and network security systems
* Maintain and update system documentation
* Support the deployment of end-point security and white-listing solutions
Requirements
* Minimum 4 years' experience in a similar ICT role
* Relevant ICT qualifications in network administration
* Expertise in JIRA administration
* Experience with VMware, NetApp storage, and SQL Server
* Strong Windows and Linux administration skills
* Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
* Strong communication and customer service skills
* Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively
* Demonstrated stakeholder engagement experience
