**Overview**
Support the 2nd Line Assurance team to provide ongoing assurance, using a risk-based approach, over the organisation's risks, obligations, and processes. The Assurance team prides themselves on doing the right thing by their customers, as well as supporting the transformation and growth of the business, whilst continually working through uplifting the assurance maturity and promoting best practise.
**Role and Responsibilities**
- Development of the second line assurance plan across the relevant BU's
- Execution of controls assurance in accordance with the assurance plan
- Assessing the design appropriateness and operating effectiveness of controls in the risk register in accordance with the Combined Assurance Framework and applicable testing methodologies
- Identify opportunities and weaknesses in the control environment and where applicable, proposing enhancements via reporting
- Support the Head of Assurance in overseeing, maintaining, and enhancing the Combined Assurance Framework and relevant testing methodologies
- Provide insights to the business to assist decision making
**Desired experience**
- Proven experience in assurance, internal audit, or risk with exposure to financial services (preferred background or broader financial services)
- Ability to work in a team aswell as autonomously to meet business objectives
- Tertiary qualifications in a related discipline are also preferred (i.e., commerce/business) and professional qualifications are valuable (e.g., CIA, CA).
- Excellent and effective interpersonal, written and communication skills and attention to detail
- Innovative mindset with ability to think the bigger picture and present new ideas to ways of doing things
