Job Title
An Environmental Advisor plays a crucial role in ensuring compliance with environmental permits and regulations throughout the project lifecycle.
* This position involves onsite auditing and monitoring of contractor compliance during construction of schemes.
* The Environmental Advisor will provide input into the development of Construction Environmental Management Plans.
The position can be either full time ongoing or a fixed term contract but must be based in Launceston, Tasmania.
About The Role
* Ensure compliance with Commonwealth and State environmental approvals, regulations, and project requirements.
* Work closely with project managers and construction teams to identify and address environmental risks.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide input into the development of Construction Environmental Management Plans.
* Conduct regular environmental audits and compliance inspections at construction sites.
* Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with environmental approvals, regulations, and project requirements.
* Identify and address environmental risks.
* Provide guidance and support on environmental best practices during construction planning and delivery phase.
* Liaise with regulatory bodies and contractors to ensure compliance with environmental permits and approvals.
* Review and approve contractor environmental documentation, including permits, reports, and studies.
* Conduct environmental incident investigations and implement corrective actions as required.
* Provide environmental training and awareness programs for construction teams.
* Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to promote environmental stewardship and sustainability.

You should have experience in construction projects and a collaborative approach along with a shared commitment to high standards. Regular travel across varied terrain and weather conditions is required, so a valid driver's licence and confidence driving in remote locations are essential.
