Salary:
A salary between $74,095 and $86,506 will be negotiated depending on experience and relevant skills. An additional optional allowance of up to $15,660 may be considered in recognition of, and as compensation for, reasonable additional hours of work and any travel requirements.

Job Description:
The Media and Communications Adviser plays a crucial role in delivering the Senator's message to the people of Western Australia and beyond. As a key member of the team, you will lead the delivery of communications across digital, print, and media platforms. Your primary responsibility will be to craft compelling messages that resonate with various audiences, including constituents, stakeholders, and local media outlets. You will also ensure the Senator's speeches, events, and community advocacy are amplified across local media and digital channels.

Key Responsibilities:
* Manage the end-to-end delivery of communications across digital, print, and media platforms
* Draft and distribute regular e-newsletters, digital updates, and print collateral to constituents and stakeholders
* Ensure the Senator's speeches, events, and community advocacy are amplified across local media and digital channels
* Develop and maintain strong relationships with local and national media outlets
* Provide communications briefings and media advice to the Senator and team, including on emerging issues and trends

Required Skills and Qualifications:
This role requires an individual with demonstrated experience designing and delivering digital communications strategies across multiple platforms. The ideal candidate should possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong ability to adapt messaging for different audiences. Proven experience working with media, drafting press releases, coordinating interviews, and building journalist relationships is highly valued. Additionally, you should have a keen interest in politics, social justice, and current affairs, with an understanding of the local political environment.

Benefits:
The position offers a range of benefits, including a commencing salary between $74,095 and $86,506, which will be negotiated depending on experience and relevant skills. An additional optional allowance of up to $15,660 may be considered in recognition of, and as compensation for, reasonable additional hours of work and any travel requirements. Relocation assistance, studies assistance, and paid study leave may also be available (subject to eligibility requirements). Employer superannuation contribution of 15.4% will be payable. Ongoing professional development and training are also offered.

Working Arrangements:
The successful applicant may be required to undergo a National Police History Check. Staff may be subject to automatic cessation triggers in accordance with Section 14 of the MOP(S) Act. The successful applicant will be required to comply with their obligations under the Behaviour Codes and Standards. For staff employed by a Minister or Parliamentary Secretary either in a personal or electorate staff position, it is a condition of your employment that you obtain and maintain a Negative Vetting 2 security clearance and comply with the Ministerial Staff Code of Conduct.
