Are you up for the challenge?
We're seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer to join our team, working on the Illabo to Stockinbingal project. In this role, you'll oversee and coordinate drainage construction, reporting to the Project Manager.
About the Role
This is a Monday-Friday Sydney-based role, which will then transition to a 2:1 roster based on site in Stockinbingal once construction commences. As a Senior Project Engineer, your key responsibilities will include:
• Coordinate and administer construction engineering activities to ensure projects are implemented in accordance with plans, designs, and specifications.
• Monitor construction progress for adherence to programme, project budgets, and report to the Project Manager.
• Mentor and coach direct reports both technically and operationally to support development and effective management of work on site.
• Work within the project team to assist with scoping, procurement, cost estimating, budgeting, and completion of works to meet client objectives.
• Preparation of both short- and longer-term detailed construction staging, plans, and performance targets.
• Understand and adhere to the JH requirements in relation to all Project Plans, OHS requirements, Document Control procedures, and QA Environment requirements.
• Undertake qualitative and quantitative safety, environment, and quality risk assessments to ensure acceptable quality of works and finishes.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
• Tertiary Bachelor qualifications in Civil/Structural Engineering or other relevant field/major.
• Demonstrated skills in programming, cost control, quality assurance, safety, and supervision/people management.
• Minimum 7-10 years' engineering experience.
• Previous work in a rail environment and technical knowledge of related specifications preferred.
• Sound understanding of Rail Safety National Law, Rail Safety work, and the responsibilities of duty holders.
• Demonstratable experience as Senior Project Engineer at site operational level and leader of engineering team.
• Knowledge of project management principles, plans, specification, standards, and implications for project accountabilities.
• Understanding the requirements of Project Design Management Plan, Quality Management Plan, Safety Management Plan, and Environmental Management Plan.
