Job Summary
The role of an Underwriting Reviewer is to assess the eligibility of clients and partners for account applications. This involves conducting thorough reviews of client and partner applications, ensuring that departmental Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are met.
Additionally, the reviewer will ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including Know Your Customer (KYC) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) policies. This will involve correctly interpreting and applying card brand network rules to ensure that only eligible merchant businesses are provided with a processing account.
The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, as well as strong negotiation skills when dealing with external dealer networks. A tertiary qualification in business or finance, along with 1-2 years' experience in a commercial credit analyst role, is also required.
* Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct thorough reviews of client and partner applications to ensure SLAs are met.
* Ensure compliance with KYC and AML policies.
* Correctly interpret and apply card brand network rules.
* Communicate decisions and data needs with sales teams and business partners.
* Participate in ongoing periodic review of larger exposure merchant accounts.
Requirements:
* Tertiary qualification in business or finance.
* 1-2 years' experience in a commercial credit analyst role or similar in the financial services industry.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Strong negotiation skills when dealing with external dealer networks.
