The Opportunity
This role is suited to a detail-oriented payroll professional who is looking to take the next step in their career with exposure to Human Resources. You'll ensure employees are paid accurately and on time while contributing to a positive workplace culture.
You will play a key role in delivering seamless payroll services, supporting system transformation initiatives, and driving improvements as we undertake a payroll system migration in a fast-growing organization. The position also offers the opportunity to support the HR function more broadly as required.
Key Responsibilities
* Process payroll in line with Enterprise Agreements, contracts, and company policies with accuracy and timeliness.
* Manage end-to-end payroll cycles using MYOB, Deputy and related systems.
* Carry out all payroll calculations including overtime, allowances, loadings, leave, terminations, and long service leave.
* Ensure compliance with Fair Work legislation, Awards, and taxation requirements, staying up to date with regulatory developments.
* Prepare, reconcile, and maintain payroll reports and records, including STP, PAYG, Superannuation, Government entitlements, and payroll tax.
* Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies and queries, providing clear resolutions.
* Support audits, compliance checks, and contribute to continuous payroll improvements, including end-of-month and year-end processes.
* Collaborate with HR, Finance, Rosters, and Management to ensure seamless payroll compliance.
* Support and educate managers and employees on payroll matters.
* Provide general support to the HR function as required.
What We Are Looking For
* 3+ years' practical experience in end-to-end payroll, including STP2, superannuation, and Award/EA interpretation.
* Knowledge of payroll systems such as Excel, SAP, MYOB, Deputy and SuccessFactors (advantageous but not essential).
* Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and time management skills.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
* A team player with a positive, can-do attitude, who works well in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
* Sound understanding of payroll compliance, reporting, and regulatory requirements.
* High level of discretion with proven ability to maintain confidentiality.
* A willingness to learn, adapt, and contribute across broader HR responsibilities.
