As an Assistant Electorate Officer, you will work closely with the Electorate Officer and the MP to support them with their Parliamentary duties and the community within the electorate of Currumbin. You will be responsible for:
- Social media management and graphic design skills (highly desirable)
- Assisting in the operation of the electorate office
- Supporting the Electorate Officer
- Liaising with constituents who contact the electorate office for information and assistance
- Supporting and engaging with community groups directly or through established external forums
- Managing and maintaining the Member's diary
- IT management and research
- Financial obligations as set by legislation and Parliamentary Service policy and procedure
- Compilation and publishing of newsletter/surveys
**To be successful in this role, you will need to have**:
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with a broad range of clients and stakeholders
- Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to work under pressure and effectively prioritise tasks to ensure deadlines are met
- The ability to work autonomously and part of a small team
- A relevant qualification or experience in administration, communication or public relations
This is a flexible part-time or full time position based in the Currumbin electorate office. Salary will be calculated on pro-rata based on the full-time rate stated above
