Chandler Macleod is pleased to partner with a Federal Government department to recruit an EL1 Technical Manager, Analytics for a full‑time 12‑month temporary contract, with the possibility of extension. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to nationally significant work supporting public hospital and aged care funding and policy.
The Technical Manager, Analytics will work across data science, modelling, policy analysis and stakeholder management to contribute to the agency’s national pricing work
Your responsibilities may include:
* Analysing data from public hospitals, private hospitals, aged care providers, and government bodies to support the development of statistical models and answer complex policy questions.
* Providing input to the development of cost and pricing models for public hospitals and aged care services.
* Contributing technical expertise to enhance and optimise a national benchmarking portal.
* Offering specialist advice to internal working groups and supporting stakeholder engagement on technical matters.
* Preparing analytical working papers, technical documentation, and reports for senior executives and external stakeholders.
* Assisting senior leadership in explaining model outputs and technical findings.
* Collaborating across teams to support the broader work program
We are seeking applicants with:
* Demonstrated ability to deliver projects in complex or uncertain environments.
* Strong technical and analytical skills with high attention to detail.
* Experience in mathematical/statistical analysis and model development.
* Proficiency in developing clear and efficient code (SAS, SQL or Python preferred).
* Ability to balance technical quality with policy and stakeholder constraints.
* Experience contributing to high‑performing multidisciplinary teams.
* Critical thinking skills to assess, validate and interpret complex modelling.
* Ability to communicate technical information effectively to varied audiences.
