About the Role
We seek a reliable, friendly and organized individual who can join our medical team. Their key responsibilities include greeting patients, answering their questions, processing paperwork, scheduling appointments and maintaining patient records.
Main Responsibilities
* Greet patients professionally and manage the front desk area.
* Schedule appointments, both new and existing, for patients.
* Maintain accurate and confidential patient records.
* Process patient payments through various methods including EFTPOS and direct billing.
* Invoice Medicare, private health funds and other relevant bodies.
* Ensure knowledge of the MBS schedule and correct billing procedures are followed.
* Communicate effectively with referring doctors, hospital staff and pharmacists.
* Handle patient inquiries and internal emails in a timely manner.
* Fulfill roster duties when other staff members are away.
* Keep the reception waiting area and consulting rooms tidy and well-organized.
* Retrieve and store patient and practice records securely.
* Protect patient confidentiality at all times.
* Complete recall tasks as required.
* Contribute to the smooth day-to-day operations of the medical centre.
Key Requirements
* Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team.
* Experience using medical software such as Best Practice or Medical Director.
* Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
* Able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
* Effective communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
* A commitment to delivering high-quality patient service.
* A minimum of one year experience as a Medical Receptionist.
