Project Coordinators play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful planning, execution, and monitoring of large-scale projects within assigned operating units.
This position entails managing project budgets, tracking expenditures, preparing cost reports and forecasts, and recommending corrective actions to maintain projects on track. Additionally, it involves workforce planning, timesheet administration, accounts payable and receivable processes, monthly accruals, client financial reporting, and project Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) elements.
Key Responsibilities:
* Cost Control: Develop and maintain project budgets, track project expenditures, prepare cost reports and forecasts, recommend corrective actions to keep projects on budget.
* Document Management: Ensure all project documents are organised and accessible, maintain version control, and manage document distribution.
* Reporting and Analysis: Prepare regular project status reports, analyse project performance data, assist in the preparation of project change orders and claims, collaborate with project managers and stakeholders, communicate project control issues, and stay up-to-date with best practices.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
* A bachelor's degree or certification in a related field is desirable.
* Minimum 5 years of experience in project accounting/finance business partner roles.
* Proven control account management experience, monitoring and controlling actual control account performance against budgets and forecasts.
* Proven experience with Earned Value Analysis (EVA) and revenue recognition in line with percent complete.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
* Well-developed communication and time management skills.
* Attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy.
* Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
* Microsoft Dynamics, Power BI, and Defence industry experience will be highly regarded.
* AGSVA security clearance (minimum Baseline).
This is a permanent, full-time opportunity that can be based in Canberra, Melbourne, or Brisbane. The successful candidate must hold a current AGSVA Security clearance upon commencement.
