Pembroke School is seeking two caring and capable Student Support Assistants to join our Junior School from 2026. These roles offer the opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of young learners, providing support that nurtures both academic progress and personal wellbeing.

About the Role
As a Student Support Assistant, you will provide high-quality learning and wellbeing support to students at our Girton Campus. Working closely with classroom teachers, you will help establish daily routines, foster positive relationships, and ensure students feel safe, supported, and engaged in their learning.
The successful candidates will have demonstrated experience supporting children with medical needs, specifically epilepsy and vision impairment. Additional expertise in other areas of student support is highly valued and will be welcomed.
Key Responsibilities Include:
* Assisting classroom teachers with the delivery of Literacy and Numeracy learning.
* Providing small group and one-to-one educational support.
* Supporting inclusive practices that encourage student engagement and wellbeing.
* Assisting with documentation and digital platforms (e.g., Toddle).
* Supporting social skills development and supervision during break times.
* Collaborating with teachers to implement effective learning experiences.
About You
You will be an enthusiastic, nurturing, and adaptable professional who thrives in a collaborative school environment. With strong communication skills and a genuine commitment to inclusive education, you will be passionate about supporting students with specific medical and learning needs so they can flourish.
You will bring:
* Qualifications in Education Support, or related fields (or equivalent experience).
* Demonstrated experience supporting children with either epilepsy and/or vision impairment.
* Knowledge of child development and student learning needs.
* Ability to build supportive and positive relationships with children.
* Collaborative approach, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
* High levels of organisation, flexibility, and resilience.
* Willingness to engage in ongoing professional learning and development.

* Current Working with Children Check (South Australia)
* Current Plink RRHAN-EC training:
* Masterclass and Fundamentals (including Protective Practices)
* First Aid and CPR
