The Role
The ABC is looking for a Production Lead within Digital & National News to deliver high‐quality work through effective strategy, clear communication, and strong leadership. The role is responsible for managing workflows, resources, and day-to-day production operations to keep content teams and projects running smoothly. You will foster collaboration and accountability, while ensuring every team member feels supported. This position is based on-site at Parliament House, Canberra.
The Job
* Support Editors and production teams to ensure smooth, efficient content delivery.
* Oversee workflows, budgets, and resources to improve efficiency and reduce risk.
* Act as the main contact for production, maintaining clear communication with stakeholders.
* Ensure compliance with production standards, policies, and safety requirements.
* Lead onboarding, training, and team engagement while fostering collaboration and growth.
* Mentor staff and promote innovation, accountability, and high performance.

About You
You'll have:
* Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent skills and experience.
* Strong administrative, organisational, and logistical abilities with a focus on production efficiency.
* Delivers consistently accurate work under pressure, with proven ability to adapt quickly and execute at short notice to accommodate urgent and changing requirements.
* Experience conducting risk assessments in content production environments.
* Proven capability in managing rostering and recruitment in collaboration with HR and editorial teams.
* Advanced financial and digital literacy, including experience with SAP Finance and related systems.
* Skills in interpreting and applying policies, building stakeholder relationships, and solving complex operational challenges.
