**Job Summary:**
We are seeking a skilled Trades Assistant to join our Operations & Maintenance team at the Darwin RAAF Base in the NT.
This is an exciting opportunity to work in the Defence environment and support the security requirements of the Nation.
You will be part of a core crew of technicians, supporting surrounding locations with occasional regional travel.
Your key responsibilities will include:
* Assessing mechanical and electrical work activities
* Managing procurement processes and creation of work packs
* Coordinating maintenance documentation on Computerised Maintenance Management Systems
* Engaging contractors, including obtaining quotes and documentation
* Supporting maintenance technicians in field works
* Providing assistance to various sites in the region, with occasional requirement to travel to multiple sites throughout the NT
* Performing general administration tasks as required
To succeed in this role, you will require:
* Previous labouring or trade experience, preferably in a mechanical context
* Experience working with SAP-based Computerised Maintenance Management Systems
* Ability to prepare permit to work documentation and risk assessments
* A strong focus on safety and adherence to protocols
* Current Defence Security Clearance, with ability to obtain further clearance if necessary
* Savvy IT skills and computer literacy
