About the Opportunity
* Provides infant mental health assessments and perinatal mental health risk assessments and review and other services in the identification, assessment intervention and referral of complex social and emotional, behavioural, and mental health difficulties at an advanced level of skill and conceptualisation.
* Provides advanced assessment, management and intervention services including counselling and support services individual interventions, group, parent-infant, and family therapy.
* Advocates for and works collaboratively with clients, families, WCHN staff and other community service/agencies that are involved.
* Contributes to a team environment, which promotes positivity, learning and development, safety, and welfare of employees. Acknowledges differences and encourages creativity, innovation, and honesty.
* Coordinates and contributes to health promotion strategies and programs.
About You
* Appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification which entitles registration as an Occupational Therapist with the Occupational Therapy Board of SA (up to July 2012) or Occupational Therapy Board of Australia (post July 2012)
* Appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification and general registration with the Psychology Board of Australia.
* Appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification which gives eligibility for full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers.
* Experience in a similar role of perinatal and infant mental health assessment and therapy with mentally ill women and/or emotionally disturbed infants and their families or with families where the infant is at risk of developing problems because of parental or other system difficulties.
* Knowledge of the development of complex social problems, their impact on individuals, carers and communities and the appropriate resources and methods in dealing with them.
* Demonstrated ability in infant and perinatal mental health assessments and management, with an understanding of complex problems using a bio-psycho-social approach.
* Demonstrated highly developed verbal communication, interpersonal skills and presentation skills that foster networking, consultation and interaction with families and professionals in a range of settings.
