About the business and the roleReporting to the Product Manager, the Web Designer is responsible for designing and maintaining user interfaces and responsive layouts for Calxa’s web-based SaaS platform. The role involves developing wireframes, interactive prototypes and high-fidelity browser-based interface designs to support the functionality, usability and performance of the application. This is an opportunity for an experienced professional with at least three years’ experience in web application design to apply their expertise in a dynamic and collaborative environment.

About the Web DesignerKey responsibilities:Design and maintain user interfaces for Calxa’s cloud-based web application platformDevelop responsive screen layouts and UI components for browser-based environmentsTranslate functional requirements into wireframes, interactive prototypes and high-fidelity web interface designsDesign user flows and interaction patterns to support web-based application functionality and navigationCollaborate with front-end developers to ensure accurate implementation of interface designs within HTML, CSS and JavaScript environmentsApply web usability and accessibility principles to optimise interface performance and user experienceConduct usability testing and refine web interfaces based on user feedback and behavioural insightsMaintain and enhance design systems, UI component libraries and style guidesManage and deliver multiple design projects simultaneously
You will have the following qualifications and experience:Degree qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, Web Design or a related fieldAt least three years’ experience in web application and interface designDemonstrated expertise in visual design software (Figma preferred)Working knowledge of HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript to support implementation of web interface designsProficiency in wireframing, prototyping, user flows and high-fidelity interface mock-upsStrong understanding of web-based architecture, responsive design and usability principlesExperience contributing to or maintaining design systems and UI component librariesA portfolio demonstrating web-based interface and user experience design solutionsKnowledge of accounting, financial budgeting or reporting systems is advantageous
