About the Role
Reporting to the Superintendent Mine Geology and Survey, we are seeking experienced Geologists to join our BMA Technical Services – Mine Geology and Spatial Services Team. The position is site‐based on an 8:6 roster with options for FIFO, DIDO or residential.
In This Role You Will
* Provide geological support to the site operational teams.
* Complete pit inspections and observations to maximise coal recovery.
* Update 3‐D models of coal seams and other geological features with pit observations, exploration drilling data, touch‐coal data, MWD or downhole geophysical logging data.
* Undertake highwall mapping to gather geotechnical and geological features.
* Collaborate with key stakeholders to define geological features appropriately.
* Provide geological input into mine‐plan designs to support geotechnical, mine scheduling and operational teams for safe and efficient coal extraction.
* Contribute to continuous improvement opportunities and participate in high‐value projects.
* Undertake geological data collection, interpretation, validation and reconciliations.
About You
* Tertiary education in Geoscience.
* Enjoy being challenged by a structurally and stratigraphically complex deposit.
* Experience in undertaking pit inspections linking observations to coal recovery and geological model improvements/validation.
* Comprehensive knowledge of coal mining, structural geology and grade‐control processes is preferred.
* Experience with Vulcan is preferred.
* Strong attention to detail, excellent team‐player with positive relationship‐building skills.
* Effective collaboration, stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
* Strong commitment to safety.
* Valid Australian driver's licence required.
